Task 5.1
The goal of this WP is the holistic evaluation of microbial risks associated with underground H2 storage in Europe. All obtained microbial data are linked to the local geochemical and geophysical conditions in order to understand how physical and chemical conditions affect the microbial processes during underground H2 storage. With this we aim to identify key parameters for microbial H2-consuming processes which helps to identify suitable storage sites.
Task 5.2
Based on the obtained microbial results, we will derive general recommendations for actions for the industry. We pinpoint the most important parameters from a microbiological point of view and summarise the methodologies for microbial risk assessment as well as mitigation strategies to limit microbial H2 consumption in a guideline.
